This design is an imagined version of what the Kiku god would look like. The design incorporates the element of arrows with talismans attached, which are used as protection and to ward off evil spirits. The addition of the Tengu mask is believed to bring good fortune and protect against evil spirits. Tengu are mythical creatures who are known to be protectors of the mountains, with a scary mask they sometimes are depicted as mischievous beings. Surrounding the god are moths, known to be ugly and seen as bad omens.
